The hidden cost of a reel change
Stop, unload, re-thread, re-align pitch, restart, and wait for feeding to stabilise — minutes of machine time and operator time, dozens of times per shift.
Short reels become scrap
Tape too short to re-thread is thrown away. Splicing uses the tail of every reel, so remaining material stops being waste.
Misfeeds after every restart

SCT splice tape models
Four stock models cover the common 3-hole and 5-hole patterns in both carriers. 2-hole, 6-hole, black PET and custom die-cuts are produced on request.

Five engineered details
Every detail of the SCT splice tape exists to keep the splice strong, the feeder clean and the machine feeding.
- Masking paper carrier. High-viscosity masking adhesive, durable and reliable, with no residual glue left on the feeder after splicing.
- Kraft paper carrier. High-viscosity design with a coated, smooth surface that suits the low-friction tape path of AI insertion machines.
- Precision die-cut pores. Front and back precision die-cutting with enlarged pores — easy to handle and easy for the machine to identify.
- Never-contact application. The adhesive face never contacts the component, so material reliability is preserved through every splice.
- No-stop material renewal. Splice without stopping the material feed — process efficiency increases by up to 15% versus manual reel changes.
- Samples before bulk order. Send a photo of your tape and we confirm the model, carrier and hole pattern — sample first, then bulk.
How a controlled splice works
Four steps, done offline while the line keeps running. The machine sees one continuous reel.
- Confirm the tape. Check tape width (12.7 or 15.0 mm), hole pattern and component type. Send a photo if anything is unclear — we confirm before you order.
- Splice offline. Align the tail of the running reel with the head of the new reel and apply the splice tape so the feed holes stay clear.
- Load one master reel. Load the spliced reel onto the feeder. The die-cut holes match the sprocket immediately — no threading, no guessing.
- Keep feeding. The insertion machine feeds through the splice without stopping. No residual glue, no re-alignment, no restart ramp.
