SMT Pickup Nozzle (multi-brand series)

SMT Pickup Nozzle Series for Smart EMS PCB Assembly

Pickup nozzles for JUKI, Yamaha, Siemens/ASM, FUJI, Panasonic and Samsung/Hanhwa mounters: vacuum, slot, gripper and pipe types, standard and custom design, matched to your head. One supplier for the whole nozzle shelf.

Southern Machinery designs and manufactures pickup nozzles across the mounter brands on a real SMT line - JUKI, Yamaha, Siemens / ASM, FUJI, Panasonic and Samsung / Hanhwa - in vacuum, slot, gripper and pipe types, standard or custom. Pick your brand below; each series page carries its own verified data.

Key features

  • One reorder covers every head

JUKI, Yamaha, Siemens, FUJI, Panasonic and Samsung nozzles are quoted and shipped together, so a single purchase order covers the mixed line instead of five vendors and five lead times.

  • Matched by head and part number, not by guess

Cross-brand part numbers are not interchangeable. Southern Machinery matches each nozzle to your exact head model and revision, and says so when a standard tip does not fit.

  • Standard and custom on the same bench

Where a published tip suits the part, it is stocked; where it does not, the same shop designs and machines a custom nozzle to your drawing - slot, gripper, pipe or odd-form.

In detail

From a mixed line to one nozzle order

Consolidating nozzles across brands follows one repeatable sequence: inventory the heads, list the parts you place, map each to a tip family, size the bore, then confirm material, the pick test and the part number before anything ships.

  • Inventory the heads. List every mounter brand and model on the line - JUKI, Yamaha, Siemens, FUJI, Panasonic, Samsung.
  • List the parts you place. Pull the distinct components from your board programs; the widths and weights drive the tips.
  • Map part to tip family. Flat chips take a vacuum tip; leads take a slot; bulky or polarised parts take a gripper; large bodies take a pipe.
  • Size the bore. For JUKI the catalogue maps each tip to an applicable component width; other brands are sized from the drawing.
  • Confirm the shaft and changer. The nozzle must seat on the right head and, where used, the brand's automatic tool changer.
  • Choose material. Copper alloy, carbide, ceramic, stainless or rubber, named per brand and per part - never assumed.
  • Test the pick. The nozzle is proven on your component before it ships; marketing pickup-rate figures are treated as targets.
  • Match the part number. Each brand has its own part-number revision; the order is placed against the number that fits your head.

Six nozzle series, one supplier

Each card opens a dedicated series page with its own verified data, photographs, working videos and documents. Start with the brand on your line.

  • JUKI pickup nozzles. The 500 and 700 series, plus slot, gripper and pipe types for KE-2010 to KE-2060, FX-1 and the 700 heads, with tip bores published from 0.4 mm to 9.5 mm.
  • Yamaha pickup nozzles. Nozzles for Yamaha YSM, YV and YG mounters, matched by head and part number, including ceramic and metal tip families.
  • Gripper & custom nozzles. Gripper nozzles for bulky and polarised odd-form parts, and the custom nozzle and gripper design-and-manufacture service.
  • Siemens / ASM nozzles. Pickup nozzles for Siemens and ASM Siplace mounters, supplied against the machine part number and confirmed for your head.
  • FUJI pickup nozzles. Nozzles for FUJI NXT, CP and AIM mounters, matched by head and feeder platform and supplied against the machine part number.
  • Custom nozzle design. Where no standard tip fits the part, a nozzle is designed and machined to your drawing - slot, gripper, pipe or odd-form, on the standard shaft and tool changer.

What this series page does not promise

A hub page that quietly implied one number fits every brand would be wrong. Six points below are stated differently across the documents, or apply to one brand only. Confirm each against the current drawing for your exact head before you order.

Where each series starts: the head and the number

Every nozzle order begins with the machine series and the part number. The table points each brand to its series page, where the fit detail lives.

The nozzle types on the shelf

Each is a documented family across the brands Southern Machinery supplies, not a one-off project.

  • Standard vacuum tips. For flat chips, MELF, tantalum, SO, QFP and BGA, sized by component width.
  • Slot nozzles. For leaded and connector parts; the slot straddles the leads and grips the body.
  • Gripper nozzles. Mechanically clamp bulky or polarised parts - a 0.8 to 5.2 mm range on the JUKI family.
  • Pipe nozzles. For large bodies, sockets and shields, with rubber-tip options to protect the part.
  • Automatic Tool Changer fit. Custom nozzles are built to the standard slider shaft and the machine's tool changer.
  • Custom design. When no standard tip suits the part, a nozzle is designed and machined to your drawing.

Six steps to a consolidated nozzle order

Ordering across brands is a short sequence. Follow it and one purchase order covers the whole line.

  • Send the head list. Every mounter brand and model, with firmware where known. This sets which numbering applies.
  • Send the parts or the drawing. The components you place, or a drawing of the odd-form part. Widths and weights drive the tip.
  • Confirm the families. Southern Machinery maps each part to a vacuum, slot, gripper or pipe tip and proposes the bore.
  • Match the part number. Each brand is quoted against the part number and revision that fits your head.
  • Prove on a sample. Where it matters, a sample run on your component confirms the pick before volume ships.
  • Set the spares kit. The matched set becomes your reorder list, reviewed as the part mix moves.

ARTICLE 01A Mixed Mounter Line Should Not Need Six Nozzle Accounts

Every brand brings its own numbering, wear parts and lead time. One partner can carry them all. Full articles are in English. The summary above carries the argument in your language. A factory runs a JUKI, a Yamaha and an ASM Siplace because each was the right machine for a different job. Three good machines, and…

ARTICLE 02Why Cross-Brand Nozzle Part Numbers Are Not Interchangeable

The same tip shape is not the same order. Match by head and revision first. Full articles are in English. The summary above carries the argument in your language. A tip that looks identical across two brands is not the same order. Nozzle part numbers are brand-specific, and even inside one brand the same type can…

ARTICLE 03A Nozzle Shelf Audit: What You Are Really Paying For

Idle tips, dead stock and five vendors quietly cost more than the nozzles. Full articles are in English. The summary above carries the argument in your language. Empty the nozzle drawer and count. ARTICLE 06The Pick Test That Makes a Multi-Brand Order Safe

One sample run per brand turns a catalogue claim into a measurement. Full articles are in English. The summary above carries the argument in your language. Frequently asked questions

Which mounter brands do you supply nozzles for?

JUKI, Yamaha, Siemens / ASM, FUJI, Panasonic and Samsung / Hanhwa, in vacuum, slot, gripper and pipe types, standard or custom. Each brand has its own series page with the verified detail.

Can one supplier really cover a mixed line?

Yes. Southern Machinery matches each nozzle to the exact head model and part number across brands, so a single purchase order can cover every mounter on the line, subject to confirming fit for each.

Are nozzle part numbers interchangeable between brands?

No. Each brand has its own numbering and revisions, and even within one brand a single type can have two part numbers that fit different machines. Nozzles are always matched to the head, never assumed across brands.

What tip data do you publish?

The JUKI series page reproduces the JUKI application catalogue tip bores (0.4 to 9.5 mm) and the applicable component widths. For other brands the bore is confirmed from your drawing and part number rather than quoted from a hub page.

Can you make a custom nozzle?

Yes. Southern Machinery describes itself as specialized in the design and manufacture of SMT nozzles and machines custom slot, gripper and pipe tips to your drawing, built on the standard slider shaft and the machine's tool changer.

What pickup rate and life can I expect?

The decks quote a 99.99 percent pickup rate and a service life of more than 24 months. These are the manufacturer's own claims, not OEM catalogue figures, and real life depends on duty cycle, part abrasion and cleaning; treat them as targets and confirm on your part.

What materials are the nozzles made from?

The JUKI catalogue states a copper-alloy body and tip with polyurethane and rubber options. Across the multi-brand supplier catalogue the materials named are ceramic, metal, rubber and plastic. No tungsten-carbide or ceramic claim is made unless a document states it for that part.

How do I order, and what is the lead time?

Send the head list and the parts or drawings. The decks quote a one-week lead time on standard types, with sea freight and customs-clearance delivery offered. Custom types and non-stock brands are quoted per drawing; this page is not a quotation.
